A campy, well-loved family classic, featuring stop-motion animation by noted animator and director George Pal, in his final directorial effort. Script by noted speculative fiction author (and screenwriter of many classic "Twilight Zone" episodes) Charles Beaumont. Winner of an Academy Award for outstanding makeup achievement, the first film awarded with an honorary Oscar for makeup.
