- 1950s ORIGINAL FILM TREATMENT BY ARTHUR ORLOFF. Rare original carbon-copy film treatment for ATTACK! Written by Arthur Orloff, based on a novelette by Alec Hudson. The original title page specifically identifies the document as a "Treatment For A Motion Picture" and credits Arthur Orloff, with the source identified as an Alec Hudson novelette from The Saturday Evening Post.

Particularly fascinating is the period Hollywood correspondence/provenance information visible on the material, including the original return address for Jason H. This is not a modern script reproduction but an actual piece of mid-century Hollywood development material documenting the attempt to bring a published story to the screen. The Alec Hudson credit is especially interesting: Alec Hudson was the pen name of naval officer and writer Jasper Holmes, whose military/technical fiction appeared in The Saturday Evening Post. Historical sources document the unusual connection between Hudson's fiction and U.

Military history, including the Navy's attention to his stories. This makes the material appealing not only to movie-script collectors but also to collectors of 1950s Hollywood, science/war fiction, Saturday Evening Post material and original screenwriting history. Original 1950s carbon-copy treatment, 100+ pages, for an apparently unproduced project credited to Arthur Orloff. Unproduced material from this era is scarce, especially in original carbon format. A true period working document.

Guaranteed Vintage and Original as issued. Comes with COA from the Museum of Mom and Pop Culture! Not signed or noted, but this was the personal property of veteran TV writer Arthur Orloff.

Among top action TV shows of the 1950s and 1960s, Orloff wrote for The Silent Service, a documentary series about submarine warfare. This lot is for an old-Hollywood, 109 White Page Treatment by Orloff for a novelette about sub warfare written by Alec Hudson for the Saturday Evening Post.

This undated draft is probably late 1950s or early 1960s. OVERALL CONDITION Very Fine / Extra Fine - See Photos.
