A scarce and unusual package of original production material from Jack Arnold's 1974 exploitation comedy, released under the titles THE BUNNY CAPER, GAMES GIRLS PLAY and SEX PLAY. Rather than a routine reading copy, this fascinating archive-style group includes original script pages, working material under the earlier title THE BET, production notes discussing story and title changes, handwritten revisions and annotations, and an original typed production letter. This lot contains genuine behind-the-scenes Hollywood artifacts-period typing, aging production paper, working notes and corrections that document the film while it was still evolving.

A scarce survival from the production process and an especially appealing piece for collectors of the great Jack Arnold, 1970s exploitation cinema, British sex comedy and original Hollywood screenplay material. 110 White Page Draft includes 1 Yellow Page and Pencil Notes - Unusual script appears to be a mix of hand-typed carbon pages and studio standard mimeo pages - Written by veteran Jameson Brewer - Directed by veteran director Jack Arnold - Title page dates draft in pencil at bottom right as 2/7/73. Also find some very nice extras.

22 memo letter re: script changes. There are 3 hand-typed pages of notes with hand-written elements for the script THE BET - ostensibly an earlier title for the project. Lastly, there is an assortment of xerox and mimeo pages with extensive notes in pencil spelling out character lines phonetically for Russian pronunciation. All in all a fun package for this quirky exploitation comedy. (Not noted, but this script was the personal property of writer Jameson Brewer). This is an odd one - Enjoy! HISTORICAL INFORMATION: This title was surprisingly difficult to research. There was no Wikipedia entry that I could find.

The first thing that caught my eye on IMDB was director Jack Arnold. My personal favorite veteran director of the Universal Horror and Sci-Fi films of the 1950's - but also the director of the odd-ball, British satire, The Mouse That Roared, in 1959. Like "Mouse", Bunny Caper is also noted as a British Comedy.

It is also of note that TCM appears to have presented it under the original title, THE GAMES GIRLS PLAY. Also unusual is the sexploitation nature of the key art campaign (shown above) for what was surely developed as a main-stream film.

This script promises to be an interesting read. STORYLINE: Young daughter of a high ranking political figure gets into trouble when she and her friends compete at bedding foreign diplomats.
