This is what's called the "Writer's First Draft" of the JAWS screenplay, written by Peter Benchley, the author of the novel JAWS. It is complete and intact and is113 pages printed on'Goldenrod' paper stock. This is standard when purchasing a book. The writer is contracted with the'first right of refusal' on the writing the screenplay adaptation typically the author gets to write one draft and two rewrites/polishes before he/she can be replaced by either the producer(s) or director. Peter Benchley JUMPED AT THE CHANCE to write the screenplay, as do most book authors, as a means of'protecting their work. And this is his one and only draft of JAWS.

The screenplay is intact and in EXCELLENT CONDITION. It has been in climate-controlled storage for 40 years, and it is EXACTLY HOW PETER BENCHLEY WANTED THE FILM VERSION OF HIS NOVEL TO BE ON SCREEN!
